When I was young, I didn’t care enough for politics. I thought it to be a useless subject. A pointless exercise for people like me living in the deprived Hemmingwell area of Wellingborough town. I saw no politician of real consequence that looked like me, talked like me, liked the music that I liked or had a background even close to one resembling my own.
Well, two terrorist attacks, one political assassination, two UK flood seasons, one drowned American city and a black president later, turns out that politics does matter after all.
